I am writing with regard to a pair of 'Le Chameau Chasseur Leather Boots' that I purchased from William Evans Ltd. 67a St. James Street, London in June 1999.

I have been using these boots consistently in my work as a wildlife photographer and film-maker in Central Africa with huge success!

These boots have become one of the key components of my operational kit. As most of my work is undertaken on foot (it is not possible to drive around in the rainforest!), foot comfort, support and keeping feet dry is extremely important. Along with my camera equipment, my boots are an integral, key element in being able to successfully implement and achieve my goals in this arena. Foot care is ultimately what keeps me walking. The rainforest is a harsh environment, fungal infections of the feet are quick to set in and it is important that you keep your feet free from cuts and thorns. Crossing acres of stagnant mud and dirty water puts you at risk from serious tropical diseases, and I am proud to say that your boots have offered me years of solid, reliable protection in this regard. They have successfully protected me from disease transmission. Keeping me free from jiggers and worms, but more importantly, they have also offered protection from more serious diseases like 'Onchocerciasis', 'River Blindness', and more recently they have offered additional protection whilst I have been working in an area that experienced the 'outbreak' of the deadly hemorrhagic fever virus 'Ebola'.

These boots have been used successfully on all of my photographic projects in Gabon, Cameroon, the Republic of Congo and more recently in the Dzanga-Ndoki National Park in the Central Africa Republic.

So far, I have worn this pair of boots for over 4320 hours and I have walked some 5760 kilometers in them and they are still protecting my feet!

In an era when everyone complains about things not lasting, or doing a job they are supposed to do, I just wanted to send you this email to thank you for providing me with a high quality product that has given me years of extremely valuable and reliable service under adverse conditions.
